By the end of July, I will be leaving Essex, and relocating to Northumberland. As a result the NECL will require a Results Secretary for the 2020 season.
I am prepared to continue to the end of 2019 season, as most of the work can be done remotely.
However, for 2020 it would be better if someone more local could take on the job. Results Secretary involves collating the results on a weekly basis, updating league tables and publishing them on the website. To oversee the fixture creation for the following season. To maintain the League Play-Cricket website and ensure that fixtures and results are uploaded to Play-Cricket and request corrections when needed. To produce the end of season averages.
To be aware of the rules of the competition, and keep a record of any fines accrued by each club, with invoice to be prepared for the AGM.
The weekly roundup is also up for grabs for any potential journo, although not a pre-requisite of the Results Secretary. All you need is a relatively good sense of humour, detail for cricket statistics (the better a Play-Cricket scorecard is completed the more in depth report can be produced) ,on occasions a sense of diplomacy and a genuine love of local cricket.
